Bernhard Prammer has studied the organ with August Humer and Alfred Mitterhofer at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna and at the Bruckner Conservatory Linz, as well as cembalo with Ton Koopman in The Hague. He cooperates with the Vienna Chamber Orchestra (WKO) and the Baroque orchestra “L’Arpa festante”, Munich. He is director and founder of the Baroque ensemble COLCANTO.He teaches the organ and the cembalo at the Landesmusikschulwerk Oberösterreich (Organization for Colleges of Music in the Land of Upper Austria), and is consultant at seminars for the advanced training of music-teachers and at musicological symposiums on the practice of the thorough-bass on keyboard instruments. After various recordings of chamber-music and CD-productions his first soloist organ CDs were published in 2004 and 2005. The same year he founded the studio Labyrinthus as a superordinate institution for integrated-artistic activities in Freistadt (Upper Austria). For many years he has as well been conductor of the Chorgemeinschaft Freistadt (the Choral Society of Freistadt). Since the autumn of 2007 he has been titular organist and curator of the Bruckner Organ at the Old Cathedral of Linz. Appointed by the Brucknerbund, he has been in charge of design and construction of the first Bruckner memorial in Linz, the so-called “Brucknerstiege”. Spektral has already published a CD recording of Mr Prammer containing organ works by Alfred Mitterhofer in 2009.
