Vokaletta Regensburg is a mixed vocalensemble that was originally founded by members of the Regensburg Opera Chorus. They have since grown to include singers with substantial choral and soloist experience as well. Their repertoire takes in both secular and sacred a cappella compositions by Byrd, Purcell, Gesualdo, Lassus, Palestrina, Monteverdi, Stainer, Stanford, Pärt, Rutter, Chilcott and other masters from the Renaissance to the present day. There are also works with instrumental accompaniment including the Liebeslieder Waltzes by Brahms and the “Liederspiel vom goldenen Horn” by Rheinberger, both with piano. Th ey have also performed the Five Mystical Songs by Vaughan Williams (with organ), the Romancero Leonarda by Castelnuovo-Tedesco (with guitar), and works with Baroque orchestra including the Psalms by Isabella Leonarda (also for radio) as well as motets and cantatas by J.S. Bach and W. F. Bach. Vokaletta also frequently performs works by composers from Regensburg and the East Bavarian region, including Aichinger, Königsperger, Haller,Renner, Leberl, Hader and Humbs.
